Dr. Simone is well versed and knowledgeable in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of skin cancers in all areas of the body. Since he has been in practice, Dr. Simone has used his expertise to treat all varieties of skin cancer including basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, and melanoma among others. Because he is a plastic surgeon, he has exceptional skill in the planning of skin cancer procedures and the reconstruction so as to get the best aesthetic result and the highest cure rate.

Skin Cancer Screening:

For many years, Dr. Simone worked at the Strang Cancer Detection Clinic in Manhattan. Throughout his entire practice he has treated skin cancers of all types and has continued to do skin cancer screening. Dr. Simone treats patients who have worrisome moles and spots on their skin or may have personal or family history of skin cancer and come for periodic skin evaluation and checkups. He was one of the first to advocate accurate and thorough photo-documentation with the advancement of computer and phototechnology. Photodocumentation is particular important in patients with a family or personal history of skin cancer, promoting early detection which can be life saving. Dr. Simone does full body photodocumentation of patients who come for complete body checks, creating a detailed, permanent photographic computer record of a patient’s skin appearance. This record then becomes the reference point for all future evaluations and/or suspicious skin changes. Additionally, computerized photographs can be easily shared with other physicians if a patient moves or comes under the care of other medical practitioners.
